Putting Your Best Foot Forward

"What are snails even trying to do?" "...Their best"

“What are snails even trying to do?” “…Their best”

There is a lot of pressure these days in every field: photography, criminal justice, sports, news anchors, bakeries, you name it. We often tend to feel discouraged and out of place by allowing our negative thoughts to eat away at the best of us. Well we shouldn’t. No matter what life throws at you, you must always try your best. Why get up out of bed in the morning if you aren’t going to give the day your all? Think about it, today will only come once in your entire lifetime.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven played music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”. With positive vibes, meditation, and focus, you will be able to give any task your all. Just make sure you do it for yourself. Not for anyone else and not for society. Be free. If you do your all for everyone else’s satisfaction, you aren’t free. You have become enslaved.

When someone has a dream that in their heart must come true, then they must put in effort. Remember this is a dream I’m talking about. A passion, a love, a deep burning desire, something extremely strong. So they must put in their best effort. As long as you have tried your best, there truly isn’t any failure. Today, this very day, will never happen ever again. Make the most of it. Dream big and own whatever you do. Even if you feel like your dream is too big and tried already, well then try again. You can only get better from there. After all, “Dreams come a size too big so that we may grow into them”
